The new Clínica Girona is a building tailored to the client's business model and faithful to the Functional Plan drawn up by PMMT according to the needs of the property. The Functional Plan aims to update and strengthen the services of a hospital with more than 80 years of history, and deeply rooted in the city of Girona. The new clinic triples the built area of ​​the old headquarters and expands the number of specialties with the aim of offering a complete health service and becoming a reference in the private sector in Catalunya.

It is a building with 3 basements and 8 floors above ground, projecting a compact volume that responds to the urban constraints of the plot where it is located. This volume includes 3 patios that allow lighting with natural light and ventilate the interior spaces as much as possible.

The building dialogues with the city through its 4 façades, adhered to the same design criteria, but which are adapted with different solutions according to their position in the environment: the north façade, which is oriented towards the center of the city, frames the main access; the south facade, which welcomes the city, is conceived as a great entrance milestone; the west also fulfills a corporate function as it is the one that can be seen from the train; and the east façade provides an urban character to the clinic.

 The infrastructure is designed following polyvalence parameters, since a hospital building must allow changes in its distribution at the pace required by medical and technological advances. An innovative and functional design, at the service of an efficient, sustainable, and universally accessible clinic, committed to people's health. Criteria from the Clear Code Architecture® method have been applied in its conception, such as the implementation of accessible counters on all floors, elevators, stairs, and bathrooms for everyone... among other actions. At the same time, the interiors of the building have been thought from the point of view of humanization, always seeking a design centered on the user. Healthy materials have also been used, which consider the health of the occupants, and follow the criteria established by Friendly Materials®.

The new Clinic has services such as emergencies, dialysis, an imaging diagnosis service with 16 imaging rooms, outpatient consultations, assisted reproduction, pathological anatomy, rehabilitation, laboratories, ophthalmology, operating rooms, an obstetric block, a day hospital, cardiac hemodynamics and electrophysiology service, endoscopy unit, ICU, hospitalization units, and all the general services necessary for the operation of the clinic: pharmacy, kitchen, central cleaning, sterilization, warehouses, etc.
