Beauty salon "Bliss&Fashion"

The architects Justina Biekšaitė-Bernatavičienė and Arūnas Lapinskas (creative duo "aj-aj architektai"), who designed the interior of Bliss & Fashion, set out to highlight the advantages of the salon's unique location - the subtle features of the Old Town and the mood of a modern metropolis.
The very high ceilings of the rooms have been preserved and the texture of the natural concrete formwork is exposed. The complex plan structure is skilfully converted into a small reflection of a small section of the old town, where the community square leads to a narrow but extremely functional street - the beauty salon space. These spaces are linked by visual connections - luminous stone elements pulsating at the turn of the 19th and 21st centuries, unique multi-functional lighting scenarios and a calm environmental palette. All of this is the setting for the main characters of the interior - the craftsmen who create beauty and their special clients. The main interior accents, reflecting the spirit of the big city, take the stage here: the tall and imposing architect-designed volumes of one-off mirrors, wall shelves and the administration cupboard (alluding to the city's brick wall).
The functionality of the beauty salon's display window is equally important: a transparent niche houses a graphic half-bar table, where you can enjoy a coffee while waiting for beauty services and admire the panorama of Vilnius Cathedral. Passers-by's eyes are also drawn to the silhouettes moving outside the window in an elaborate play of lights. There is a strong visual pull and aesthetic connection. There is a beautiful dialogue between the exterior and the interior, which contextually underlines the impression of Vilnius as a multicultural and open city.
