Non-winning project of the Festival des cabanes organized by the Villa Medici Rome / Italy / 2022

The project is located in the "quadrati" of the Villa Medici flower meadow, which is distinguished by a harmonious horizontal: the hedge, and a powerful vertical: the prominent umbrella pine.
A ribbon connects a raised platform to the ground and surrounds the pine. A solid balustrade surmounts a floor underlining the top of the hedge. The thickness of the platform is levitated by a simple structure that has a minimal impact on the ground.
This platform allows the visitor to leave the confines of the squares. It offers an unobstructed view of the major perspectives of the garden, invisible in normal circumstances.
By putting architecture at the service of the garden, we question the relationship between man and nature and architecture and demonstrate that architecture can, through a low visual impact, give much to see.
