Family house in Luhačovice | ellement architects
wooden minimal house Luhačovice / Czech Rep. / 2018
For their family house, the young couple picked a land near the forest with a view of spa Luhačovice. Having in mind the budget, the house is designed as a ground-floor building on the edge of the forest on one side, and ending the built-up area of the town on the other side.
Two height levels create a subtle shift in the inner space of the house. The construction is based on ground screws because of the price optimization. The house seemingly floats above the city and thanks to the facade from the wooden facing it becomes part of the landscape. The disposition is set on two levels; on one level there is a kitchen, bathroom, and rooms. On the second level, a few steps down, there is located living room with higher headroom and more space and air. Otherwise compact volume is divided between the living room and bedroom by the outside terrace. The house is built with CLT panels visible in the interior and it has a ceiling made with wooden beams.
