Frank & Charlie coffee bar

After months of renovating, coffee bar Frank & Charlie finally opened its doors last summer. A bold move, considering Covid was still very much out there. But not as bold as the interior of the coffee bar, which includes lots of colours and patterns. The real eye-catcher, however, is the entrance. A custom mosaic floor with Frank & Charlies logo, designed and supplied by The Mosaic Factory!

Custom work adds something unique and distinctive to any project. That is why The Mosaic Factory offers lots of possibilities in that area. Custom mosaic patterns for the wall and floor, for projects all over the world. Floor designs are always made with the TMF® London collection. These unglazed, full body porcelain mosaics are very suitable for high traffic floors and have a nonslip rating of R11/C.

The London collection also offers all common tile shapes, allowing The Mosaic Factory to create almost any kind of pattern. The custom floor was made with the white hexagon (LOH2010) and a floor tile of Marazzi, used for the logo and outer edge. This tile was first sliced into the same thickness as the mosaics and then the logo was cut out of it with a waterjet. 

Considering custom mosaics for your next project? The process is quite easy. If you have an idea of what the pattern should look like, you provide The Mosaic Factory with a drawing on scale. If it’s a repeating pattern, a clear picture will suffice as well. The Mosaic Factory then checks if the pattern matches their collection, so if they have the right colours and shapes to create it. If that’s the case, you will be informed about pricing and delivery times. Both depend on volume, complexity of the pattern and the collections to be used.

Once the order is officially confirmed, The Mosaic Factory starts creating the design. If it’s almost finished, you will receive a heads up and the exact delivery date will be discussed. The pattern itself is supplied on numbered sheets, with a layout scheme and instructions for the tiler. Want to know more about custom mosaics?
