Speaking of an eye-catcher! This bar was tiled with a custom mosaic pattern, supplied by The Mosaic Factory a few years ago. The Mosaic Factory offers an extended range of mosaics but gets lots of requests for custom work too. Which makes sense: custom work adds something unique to any design, with restaurant The Lucky Apple being a prime example!

The Mosaic Factory designs and supplies lots of bespoke floor patterns. They always use the London collection for this, which includes full body, unglazed porcelain mosaics. These mosaics are very suitable for high traffic floors and were the right choice for this bar as well. If anyone or anything hits or kicks the bar, the pattern won’t get damaged. The Mosaic Factory opted for the small black (LOH2017) and white (LOH2010) hexagon, so the curve of the bar could be covered perfectly.

Considering custom mosaics for your next project? The process is quite easy. If you have an idea of what the pattern should look like, you provide The Mosaic Factory with a drawing on scale. If it’s a repeating pattern, a clear picture will suffice as well. The Mosaic Factory then checks if the pattern matches their collection, so if they have the right colours and shapes to create it. If that’s the case, you will be informed about pricing and delivery times. Both depend on volume, complexity of the pattern and the collections to be used.

Once the order is officially confirmed, The Mosaic Factory starts creating the design. If it’s almost finished, you will receive a heads up and the exact delivery date will be discussed. The pattern itself is supplied on numbered sheets, with a layout scheme and instructions for the tiler. Want to know more about custom mosaics? Feel free to contact The Mosaic Factory and discuss the possibilities. They are happy to think along!
