Fadi Villa

The client’s main requirements: 
The client wanted an exterior and interior design for his residential 2-story villa located in UAE, Dubai, AL MAMZAR FRONT, with a built-up area of 900 sq. He had requirements and preferences regarding the design; he requested an aesthetic, unique, and functional design that gives hospitality vibes and provides ease and healthiness to their lives. 

He wanted privacy for the bedrooms and family rooms while bringing the natural light into the villa widely. As a result, we met his expectations by designing a unique-shaped villa with a big double-height lobby that gives the feeling of a castle-like atmosphere upon entering the villa, and is surrounded by glass walls that creates a healthy and happy area. 

On the other hand, MEMAR used porcelain tile material that ensures privacy in selected spaces as requested in a beautiful way. The Memar design team also fulfilled our client’s desire by merging the lobby area with the landscape through transparent floor-to-ceiling sliding windows. It feels like a natural private extension of the villa’s interior; this outdoor area contains a waterfall that falls from the ground floor cantilever to the pool. This water feature provides the soothing sounds of flowing water. 

The sounds of water can decrease stress and help people relax both mentally and physically. The villa swimming pool is infinite; the waterfalls from the swimming pool to the basement wall. 

Materials elements that reduce the building’s energy consumption:
Porcelain tiles were used in the exterior building instead of natural stone. Moreover, these Porcelain tiles retain heat well. 

Due to the makeup of the insulating tiles, once the heat has risen through, they will retain the heat very well and keep indoor warmer for longer, which reduces the AC consumption especially with UAE heat. 

Moreover, glass material was used as it helps lower artificial lighting needs and consequently, the associated share of energy consumption as well. 

Main materials used in the appearance and finish of the structure:
The main materials used are glass and porcelain tiles materials for the exterior building; unlike any other material, glass can transmit, absorb or refract light. As a result, it can be both translucent and transparent. Such characteristics add extraordinary beauty to the building. Moreover, porcelain tiles were also used in an outstanding appearance, as porcelain tile is characterized by its strength, hardness, purity, and high wear resistance. Also, we added a touch of wood for a warm feeling to the building.

The interior design of the entrance is creative and breathtaking. It has an open layout and white columns from the bottom to the top ceiling of the villa, reflecting our client’s personality and pushing the experience level to the maximum.

Moreover, this beautiful blue colored chandelier in the entrance will illuminate evenings with its lustrous scattered style.

Also, a special feature of this design is the bridge on the upper floor, which links different parts of the villa strikingly in a creative way.

Grayish colors and wood louvers were chosen for the master suite on the first floor. The slatted wood catches the light in a more interesting way than a flat wall panel could, creating areas of light and shade. Gray carpet was used to give a cozy feeling. The unique master bathroom consists of everything you need for a perfect me - time. A marble floor, wood louvers, and tropical plants. These plants promote health benefits like filtering the air, reducing stress, and absorbing noise. The bath is absorbed into the skylight giving the residents’ hospitality experience.

Environmentally friendly and sustainable construction materials and techniques used:
Glass is integral in designing truly sustainable and low-energy buildings, as it generates minimal environmental impact, which makes it a product of choice for sustainable buildings.

In addition, glass is made of abundant non-polluting raw materials, its manufacturing process is highly energy-efficient, requires low levels of water, and generates little waste. Recent life-cycle studies have shown that windows represent a very minor share of a building’s environmental impact from the cradle to the construction phase. 

Moreover, the vast majority of glass products for buildings are recyclable at the end of their lives. This contributes to an even lower environmental impact. 

When recycled into new glass products, glass waste helps to economize both raw materials and energy in manufacturing new glass products. Also used a touch of brass metal for the main elevation as it is one of the strongest and most durable materials, it’s a great metal for outdoor applications due to its amazing endurance.It can last for hundreds of years.
