[ENG] - The client had in mind a cool and elegant apartment above the rooftops of Vienna. The suc- cessful entrepreneur often travels around the country and abroad; he wants the usual comfort and luxury of modern metropolitan hotels for his new home. It sits atop a refurbished Wilhelmi- nian-style building in the 9th district. STEININGER designs and manufactures the interior fittings for the two-storey unit with a total of 190 m2. This includes the kitchen, bedroom, dressing room, living room, sofas, all furniture, carpets, lighting and accessories. 

The floor plan of the kitchen and adjoining dining room is complicated: a very long and narrow area between the living room and the terrace. Due to a side shaft, the kitchen is only 3 meters wide, that is why STEININGER is placing the WALL cabinet there. The ROCK stone island in Maya Black is positioned along the spatial axis. The matching additional table is made to measure: the stone is perfectly squared on all sides so that no joints are visible. Craft is learned at STEININ- GER! A solid black wood dining table is the optical extension of the kitchen island. Tom Dixon‘s Mirror Ball lights are a brilliant counterpoint. The kitchen wall on the side of the dining table is completely mirrored with dark glass. This reflection expands the space. 

The designers cleverly use the shaft mentioned above as a room divider with a built-in firepla- ce. So comfort is provided in the adjoining living area. Here the floating, illuminated cabinet catches the eye, also a special solution. Oak wooden floor and white walls create a bright, cheerful atmosphere. Darker contrasts set striking accents, ground the rooms and give charac- ter. For example the carpets and furniture in the living area and bedroom. Here the wall behind the comfortable box spring bed is painted gray. Another nifty detail is the chilled minibar in 

the wardrobe. This means that the frequently traveling business lady always has her snacks and drinks within easy reach at home - just as she is used to from hotels. The way to the kitchen on the lower floor is spared. This is how Savoir Vivre on Top of Vienna works! 

[DE] - Ein cooles und stilvolles Appartement über den Dächern von Wien schwebte der Bauherrin vor. Die erfolgreiche Geschäftsfrau ist häufig im In- und Ausland unterwegs. Den gewohnten Komfort und Luxus moderner Hotels der Metropolen wünscht sie sich auch für das neue Zuhause. Das befindet sich on Top eines sanierten Gründerzeitbaus im 9. Bezirk. STEININGER plant und realisiert die Innenausstattung für die zweigeschossige Einheit mit insgesamt 190m2. Dazu gehören Kü- che, Schlafzimmer, Ankleide, Wohnzimmer, Sofas, sämtliche Möbel, Teppiche, Beleuchtung und Accessoires. 

Vertrackt erweist sich der Grundriss von Küche und angrenzendem Esszimmer: ein sehr langge- zogener und schmaler Bereich zwischen Wohnraum und Terrasse. Durch einen seitlichen Schacht ist die Küche nämlich nur knapp 3 Meter breit. Deshalb positionieren STEININGER dort den Wand- schrank WALL. Die Insel ROCK aus Stein in Maya Black platziert längs der Raumachse. Der dazu passende Anbautisch ist eine Maßanfertigung: Dafür wird der Stein allseitig perfekt auf Gehrung gearbeitet, damit keine Fugen sichtbar sind. Handwerk ist bei STEININGER eben gelernt! Ein mas- siver Esszimmertisch aus schwarzem Holz ist die optische Verlängerung der Kücheninsel. Mirror Ball-Leuchten von Tom Dixon bilden dazu einen glänzen Kontrapunkt. Die Küchenwand seitlich vom Esstisch ist vollflächig mit dunkel getöntem Glas verspiegelt. Durch diese Reflexion weitet sich der Raum. 

Den oben erwähnten Schacht nutzen die Designer clever als Raumteiler mit Kamineinbau. Für Behaglichkeit im angegliederten Wohnbereich ist also gesorgt. Hier fällt der schwebende, illu- minierte Schrank ins Auge, auch eine Sonderlösung. Eichenparkett und weiße Wände verbreiten eine helle, heitere Atmosphäre. Dunklere Kontraste setzen markante Akzente, erden die Räume und geben Charakter. So zum Beispiel die Teppiche und Möbel in Wohnbereich und Schlaf- zimmer. Hier ist die Wand hinter dem komfortablen Boxspringbett grau gestrichen. Ein weiteres raffiniertes Detail ist die gekühlte Minibar im Kleiderschrank. So hat die vielreisende Businesslady auch daheim ihre Snacks und Getränke immer in Reichweite – genau so, wie sie das von Hotels gewohnt ist. Der Weg in die Küche zum unteren Geschoss bleibt ihr somit erspart. So geht Savoir Vivre on Top of Wien!
