The location itself attracts attention: “Paradiso” is located in one of the historic buildings in the revitalized Norblin Factory in Warsaw / Poland. Historical architecture, on the one hand, contributes to the attractiveness of the place and increases its “climate”, on the other, however, it imposes restrictions on architects and poses challenges – both in the design and implementation phase.

The building that now houses the Paradiso represented itself, one could say, only a shell. The original walls, poles and tracks running in the floor, formerly used for transporting loads, have been preserved. All these historical elements were taken care of and had to be preserved. A particular challenge was to fit the steel rails into the restaurant’s arrangement, in such a way that they were clearly visible, and at the same time did not interfere with the use of the place and enrich the premises visually.

Green is the main color in Paradiso: its various shades are found on the walls, doors and logs. The bar, which serves as the center of this space, is lined with alternately long, semicircular tiles in a shade of bottle green and mirror stripes. – In combination with the white and black floor it gave an optical, slightly surreal effect of infinity

Tiling walls and floors with ceramic tiles is a tradition associated with the South – especially Spain, Portugal and Latin America.

Inside the “Paradiso” there are clear references to the colonial style introduced, among others, by Bentwood chairs with woven rattan backs. However, there are also soft, velor-upholstered armchairs with a form inspired by the 1950s. The eclectic, tasteful décor gives the effect of a place suspended in time, with a magical atmosphere in which you can feel a note of nostalgia – for example for Havana, from the time before the revolution. So let’s imagine a scene like this: a truly tropical heat outside (this is where your imagination doesn’t have to work hard, the summers are hot lately), and a nice coolness inside. We sit down comfortably in the armchair. The dark green of the palms is a real eye massage. How about a glass of rum straight from the Caribbean?
