Out of the blue | AIM

The project “Out of the blue” consists of the restructuring of a 150mq detached house in Milan.

From the very beginning , in agreement with the commitent , alongside the functional requirements, an architectonic language developed thus magnifying the intrinsic characteristics of the house and improving the perceived ratio between the different programmatic areas, creating a new balance and harmony.
The nerve-centre is a monolith of Deep Titanium Corian which accomodates the induction hob , designed to create continuity throughout the kitchen and living area; an iconic and versatile element which can be used as a work-top in the preparation stages, then transformed into a dining table for lunches and intimate dinners.

The accurate choice of colour , an elegant chromatic grey metameric combined with black and careful choice of finishings in burnt brass , exhalts the identity of the custom designed kitchen transforming the utility area into an integral and prestigious part of the living-room, widening the perception of space and restoring the interaction with the adjacent garden.

The central staircase was enclosed in a volume and crosses through the three floors of the house, thought up as a sculptural element created from the extraction of material of which the box consists. A strong chromatic contrast was created between the interior and exterior of this volume which enables the net separation of the macro area of the house, dividing the living and private areas. The entire fitted furniture was designed to belong to the architecture with the function of optimising the spaces and creating storage both in the living area and the large accessorised walls in the entrance.

Il progetto Out of the Blue consiste nella ristrutturazione di una casa indipendente di 150 mq a
Milano.
Fin dall'inizio, in accordo completo con la committenza, accanto ai requisiti funzionali si è
sviluppato un linguaggio architettonico in grado di esaltare le caratteristiche intrinseche
dell’abitazione e migliorare i rapporti percettivi tra le diverse aree programmatiche creando una
nuova armonia e un nuovo equilibrio.
Il centro nevralgico è Il monolite realizzato in Corian Deep Titanium che ospita il piano cottura,
progettato per creare continuità tra la cucina e la sala; un elemento identitario e versatile che può essere utilizzato come piano di lavoro in fase di preparazione o come tavolo per pranzi e cene in intimità.
L’accurata scelta del colore, un elegante grigio cromatico metamerico combinato al nero e
l’attenzione nella scelta delle finiture e dei dettagli in ottone brunito esalta l’identità della cucina
custom-designed trasformandola da area di servizio a parte integrante e di pregio della sala,
dilatandone lo spazio percepito e ripristinando l’interazione con il giardino adiacente.
La scala centrale è stata inscritta in un parallelepipedo e attraversa tutti e tre i piani dell’abitazione, immaginata come elemento scultoreo nato dalla sottrazione della materia che compone il box.
E' stato creato un forte contrasto cromatico tra l’interno e l’esterno di questo volume utile a
separare nettamente le macro aree della casa suggerendo la divisione tra zone conviviali e aree
private.
L’intero arredo fisso è stato disegnato per “appartenente” all’architettura con la funzione di
ottimizzare gli spazi e creare contenimenti sia nella zona giorno che nella grande parete attrezzata in entrata.
