Project presented at the 8th Design Award "Accendi la tua idea" contest promoted by RIVA 1920 - Italy.

The project envisages the creation of a stylised tree in solid wood into which it is possible to insert Murano glass inserts designed and planned for insertion, reuse and free placement, personalising the tree year by year. The industrial project envisages the creation of inserts of different designs, models and materials in order to vary the presentation of the tree each year. The tree can also be customised with specific lights offering festive suggestions.  The aim is to create a product that is respectful of nature, recyclable, reusable and that counteracts the consumerist concept of the Christmas tree.

The dimensions of the designed tree are 200 mm base x 490 mm height.  It is divided into three parts: base, stem and top.

The base, which is smooth, gives the object its main spatial weight and anticipates the subsequent movement towards the top.  It rests on a trunk that represents the part that enters the earth and is the base on which the object rests. This trunk visually continues inside the pinetto and is perceivable, as the stem inside the tree, through the upper cuts.

The trunk is delimited by a slight curve that extends upwards connecting the base with the top. It is marked by rings hollowed out for the entire circumference that are inclined towards each other in the opposite direction, drawing an ascending staircase. These cuts allow for the insertion of greeting cards, ribbons or decorative elements, making it an object with which one can converse even after the Christmas holidays.

The top is smooth and concludes the design that started at the base, transforming at the tip into a small circular plume resembling, among other things, a seed.

Telos

In Aristotelian philosophy, the term telos represents the essence of existence attained after tracing sometimes difficult paths, but always upwards, towards the pinnacle of our personal history.

The upper plume represents the telos, the point of arrival of the ascending path that moves between the alternating experiences represented by the crossed circles. All visible, hidden and ideal lines converge towards the telos, the crucial moment enclosed in the seed of life.

Progetto presentato al contest 8° Design Award “Accendi la tua idea” promosso da RIVA 1920 – Italia.

Il progetto prevede la creazione di un albero stilizzato in legno massello nel quale sia possibile inserire inserti in vetro di Murano disegnati e progettati per l’inserimento, il riuso e la libera collocazione personalizzando l’albero anno per anno. Il progetto industriale prevede la creazione di inserti di differenti disegni, modelli e materiali con la finalità di variare ogni anno la presentazione dell’albero. L’albero è personalizzabile anche con specifiche luci offrendo così suggestioni di festa.  L’obiettivo è la creazione di un prodotto rispettoso della natura, riciclabile, riutilizzabile e che contrasta il concetto consumistico dell’albero di Natale.

Le dimensioni dell’albero progettato sono di 200 mm di base x 490 mm di altezza.  È diviso in tre parti: base, fusto e sommità.

La base, liscia, assegna all’oggetto il principale peso spaziale e anticipa il movimento successivo che si eleva verso la sommità.  È poggiata su un tronco che rappresenta la parte che entra nella terra ed è la base su cui poggia l’oggetto. Questo tronco visivamente prosegue all’interno del pinetto ed è percepibile, come fusto interno all’albero, attraverso i tagli superiori.

Il fusto è delimitato da una leggera curva che si estende verso l’alto collegando la base con la sommità. È segnato da anelli scavati per l’intera circonferenza inclinati tra di loro in senso opposto disegnando una scala ascendente. Tali tagli consentono di infilare cartoline di auguri, nastri o elementi decorativi che lo rendono un oggetto con il quale è possibile dialogare anche dopo le feste natalizie.

La sommità è liscia e conclude il disegno partito dalla base trasformandosi in punta in un piccolo pennacchio circolare che richiama, tra l’altro, le sembianze di un seme.

Telos

Nella filosofia aristotelica il termine telos rappresenta l’essenza dell’esistenza raggiunta dopo aver tracciato percorsi talvolta difficili, ma sempre verso l’alto, verso il culmine della nostra storia personale.

Il pennacchio superiore rappresenta il telos, il punto d’arrivo del percorso ascendente che si muove tra le alterne esperienze rappresentate dai cerchi incrociati. Tutte le linee visibili, nascoste e ideali convergono verso il telos, momento cruciale racchiuso nel seme della vita.
