Introduction
The transformation of the existing architecture can not relate to its past and the
context in where it is located. The Colonia Reggiana, the Promoter will allocate a
place of warmth and hospitality, was already designed for this purpose. In the past
many young people were greeted and hosted with rehabilitative purposes also in a
past that we are being revived in the forms and volumes of the structure, past a
"heavy" rationalist architecture that translated into functional and extremely severe
lines, a strict and square in heavy structures and xed as if to denounce the presence
perpetual and immutable, set in a context that is then transformed over time,
evolved, which has made the territory on the Adriatic coast the place of welcome
and hospitality, with its natural attractions, cultural attractions and not least as a
place of entertainment for young people.
Concept
Intention of the designers is, according to the requirements of warmth and hospitality,
to lighten the body construction, making it more dynamic, move the forms,
since the image renew outdoor tables revisited, seduce the user to bring into the
make it ow in a fresh and light, made of colors, shapes and materials that deconstruct
and giving new life to new spaces. Using materials and colors as well as give
impetus and vitality to the volumes, means "dress" the existing structures with
clothes that can be changed and reinterpreted over time into an innovation
constant fabrics; clothes, pressed cardboard , wood and ceramics, stress paths,
feature spaces and involve the audience, always understood enlarged into a
sensory experience that adds value in the context of receptivity.
Project Description
The project features the building from the outside. A gently sloping ramp, in
accordance with national legislation, will allow access to an expanded audience,
allowing the removal of existing steps and avoiding the expensive installation of
unsightly external lifting equipment. At the end of the ramp the covering entrance,
which visually has already welcomed the visitor from far, will be transformed with
the use of colorful fabrics that make the structure and the face of the facade more
enjoyable and less severe. By the same textile exhibitions for the other tables will
be renewed and they will renew the entire building.
Inside, the rst level, spaces are designed to achieve dierent elds for each type of
function and at the same time achieve a exibility of use by adopting a distribution
strategy that takes advantage of the availability adjustment of the existing structure,
making it more accessible .
Crossing the entrance door you are in the lobby, where the tissue wall and ceiling,
the pipe-colored pasteboard and colors for oors and furniture welcome us and
introduce us to a pleasant sensory experience. On the right side of the hall there’s
the lobby where comfortable sofas allow to wait enjoying views of the sea from the
wide window. On the left the reception desk, with its curvilinear forms welcomes us
as an embrace inside the hotel, behind the counter are the premises for the
personal and oce management. It 'easy to move beyond, led by the coloured
wave on the ceiling and the oor diversied materials, wood and ceramics; the
paths are quickly understood and lead us over the cardboard tubes wing where are
spaces user services: a curvilinear volume, low height compared to the space of
structure, houses the wardrobe and toilets while on the opposite side a wall of
colored MDF panels, folding and overlapping, indicates us the elements, stairs and
elevator to reach the upper oor where the bedrooms are located. Without a real
stop, though with a perceptible functional identication, we nd ourselves in a
large space ooded with light provided by large windows there’s the lounge,
furnished with comfortable seating and low tables on the one hand, and the area
equipped with tables and chairs, designed for breakfast and bar service for the
other, overlooking the beach and the sea but we kidnap the wave of color on the
ceiling and the oor with dierent materials, which we had upheld in the lobby,
there lead over the bar on which a curtain of pressed cardboard tubes with high
sound insulating properties of our wave, which intersects the bar breaks, divided
into branches that connect it to the ground and that lead us to access the meeting
room, the rigorous severity of the structural grid of existing reinforced concrete
frames is transformed by the tissues that wrap, redesign, giving new shape and
color to a spacious and bright. Inside the meeting room will perform the necessary functions in the
organization of sessions for auditors and the stage for the speakers, on the back of
the room, on the one hand, the premises equipment in support of the hall, on the
other hand toilets and emergency exit opening onto a re escape.
The bedrooms are at the second level. Arrival of the staircase and lift a wall colored
welcomes us and invites us to lounge decommitting the suites and a utility room
on one side and the corridor of the distribution of other rooms on the other. Going
along the corridor, lit by large windows, are on one side of the entrance room and
the other, beyond the windows, a walk outside with chairs and tables. All rooms
have sea views and are well lit by large windows and existing en suite. Bathrooms
with sink, suspended sanitary and oorlevel shower and wide space allow to enjoy
everybody their journey. At the opposite end of the corridor are located some local
service and the scale of emergency.

Concept
Intenzione dei progettisti è quella, in accordo con le esigenze di accoglienza e ospitalità, di alleggerire l’organismo edilizio, renderlo più dinamico, smuovere le forme, rinnovare n dall’immagine esterna con prospetti rivisitati, sedurre l’utente accogliendolo all’interno per farlo fluire in ambienti freschi e leggeri, fatti di colori, forme e materiali che destrutturano e ridanno nuova vita agli spazi. Con l’uso dei materiali e dei colori oltre a dare slancio e vitalità ai volumi, si intendono “vestire” le strutture esistenti con abiti che possono essere cambiati e reinterpretati nel tempo in un’ottica di innovazione costante; i tessuti, il cartone pressato, i legni e le ceramiche, sottolineano i percorsi, caratterizzano gli spazi e coinvolgono l’utenza, sempre intesa ampliata, in un’esperienza sensoriale che crea un valore aggiunto nel contesto della ricettività.
Descrizione del progetto
Il progetto caratterizza l’edicio n dall’esterno. Una rampa a dolce pendenza, in accordo con la normativa nazionale, consentirà l’accessibilità ad una utenza ampliata, permettendo l’eliminazione dei gradini esistenti ed evitando l’installazione di antiestetici quanto costosi impianti di sollevamento esterni. Alla fine della rampa la pensilina a copertura dell’ingresso, che visivamente avrà già accolto il visitatore da lontano, verrà trasformata con l’uso di tessuti colorati che renderanno più piacevole e meno severa la struttura stessa ed il prospetto di facciata. Con gli stessi allestimenti tessili anche gli altri prospetti risulteranno rinnovati e con essi risulterà rinnovato l’intero organismo. All’interno, al primo livello, gli ambienti dell’hotel sono stati pensati in modo tale da realizzare ambiti differenti per ogni tipo di funzione e nello stesso tempo realizzare una flessibilità d’uso, adottando una strategia distributiva capace di sfruttare la disponibilità all’adeguamento della struttura esistente, rendendola più fruibile. Varcata la soglia d’ingresso ci si trova nella hall, dove i tessuti a parete e a sofftto, i tubi colorati in cartone pressato e i colori dei pavimenti e degli arredi ci accolgono e ci introducono ad una piacevole esperienza sensoriale. Sul lato destro della hall trova spazio la lobby dove comode sedute permettono la sosta e l’attesa godendo della vista del mare dall’ampia vetrata. Sul lato sinistro il bancone reception, con le sue forme curvilinee ci accoglie come in un abbraccio e ci dà il benvenuto all’interno dell’hotel; Dietro il bancone si trovano i locali adibiti al personale: ufficio e direzione. E’ semplice muoversi oltre, guidati dall’onda di colore a soffitto e dalla pavimentazione diversicata nei materiali, legno e ceramica; i percorsi vengono rapidamente percepiti e ci conducono oltre le ali in tubi di cartone pressato oltre le quali troviamo spazi a servizio dell’utenza: un volume curvilineo, di altezza ridotta rispetto allo spazio della struttura, accoglie il locale guardaroba e i servizi igienici mentre sul lato opposto una quinta di pannelli colorati in MDF, ripiegabili e parzialmente sovrapposti, ci indica gli elementi, scale e ascensore, per raggiungere il piano superiore dove trovano ubicazione le camere da letto. Senza una vera soluzione di continuità, se pure con una percettibile identicazione funzionale, ci ritroviamo in uno spazio ampio inondato dalla luce fornita dalle ampie vetrate che ospita il lounge, allestito con comode sedute e tavolini bassi da un lato, e la zona attrezzata con tavoli e sedie, pensata sia per le colazioni che per il servizio bar dall’altro, la vista sulla spiaggia e il mare ci rapiscono ma l’onda di colore a soffitto e la pavimentazione con differenti materiali, che già ci aveva accolto nella hall, ci conducono al bar oltre il quale su di una cortina di tubi in cartone pressato con alte proprietà fonoisolanti la nostra onda, che interseca il bar, si infrange, ripartendosi in rami che la collegano al suolo e che ci conducono agli accessi della sala meeting; la rigorosa severità della maglia strutturale dei telai in cemento armato esistenti viene trasfigurata dai tessuti che fasciano, ridisegnano, ridanno forma e colore ad uno spazio ampio e luminoso. All’interno della sala meeting la necessaria funzionalità si espleta nell’organizzazione delle sedute per gli uditori e nel palco per i relatori; Sul fondo della sala, da un lato i locali destinati alle attrezzature a corredo della sala stessa, dall’altro i servizi igienici e l’uscita di sicurezza che immette su di una scala antincendio. Al secondo livello troviamo le camere da letto. All’arrivo della scala e dell’ascensore una parete colorata in ci accoglie e ci invita al salottino che disimpegna la suite e un locale di servizio da un lato e il corridoio di distribuzione delle altre camere dall’altro. Imboccando il corridoio, illuminato dalle ampie vetrate, troviamo da un lato l’ingresso delle camere e dall’altro, oltre le vetrate, la passeggiata esterna attrezzata con sedute e tavolini. Tutte le camere hanno la vista sul mare e sono ben illuminate dalle ampie vetrate esistenti e dotate di bagno interno. La dotazione dei bagni, con lavello, sanitari sospesi e doccia filopavimento, e lo spazio disponibile sono tali da renderle accessibili a tutti. Al capo opposto del corridoio trovano posizione alcuni locali di servizio nonché la scala di emergenza. ...
