“Montchalet – says Marco Pezzutto, owner of the hotel – was founded in 2017 thanks to the passion for hospitality which I share with my family. We immediately decided to focus on the requirements of the most demanding and selective guests, who could not find a location in Val Gardena to match the magnificence of the Ortisei landscape, and the exceptional opportunities provided by the local context.”

The spaces set aside for wellness through water, such as the pool in the spa and the bathrooms inside the suites, feature the presence of natural stone surfaces of astonishing beauty - capable of igniting the senses of sight and touch, connecting every guest with his or her own inner center and the surrounding natural world.

“In the wellness area, the Antolini facing in Patagonia transforms the wall of the swimming pool into a fantastic natural tableau. Pale zones with subtle shading stand out on a backdrop that is at times translucent, veiled by the mutable nuances of earth tones, alternating with complex black and golden ramifications.”

The precious temporal pattern of the material, rendered even more striking with its backlighting, is reflected on the water’s surface, giving rise to an iridescent game of reflections, set on the stage of the large glass that separates the pool from the hotel patio, outwardly projecting the dreamy atmosphere of this space devoted to wellness of both the body - and the spirit.

Sequoia Brown is the Antolini stone that becomes the absolute protagonist of the bathrooms inside the suites. An apt choice, in line with the architectural language of the resort, a contemporary reinterpretation of the style of alpine construction. The discreet, welcoming image of the private spaces, generated by extensive use of wood, takes on value and tactile allure due to the presence of a stone of vibrant elegance, displaying its soft grain that links back to the idea of antique wooden surfaces.

“In this case, the exceptional appeal of the flooring comes from Antolini’s Sequoia Brown, applied in a very special version – Marco Pezzutto explains. – The marble has the typical geometric effects of parquet, conveying the impression of splendid boards placed horizontally and vertically. While providing extraordinary strength and durability, the floor conveys a sense of warmth usually associated with wood, as well as a dynamism skillfully amplified by the glass surfaces of the shower cabin, which reflect the marvelous patterns of the natural stone. On the wall, marble rises to the height of the mirror and then even further up, once again triggering a game of reflections and overlaps that accompanies guests throughout their experiences in contact with water.”

The natural stones utilized in the interiors of Hotel Montchalet are Antolini’s Patagonia and Sequoia Brown, both of which belong to the Exclusive Collection. Patagonia by Antolini has been utilized in the wellness area at Montchalet.

At Montchalet, Sequoia Brown by Antolini has been chosen for the cladding of the walls of the bathrooms inside the suites. Also in the suites for the flooring, the choice has been given to Sequoia Brown from the Woodstone  Collection, offering the solidity of marble in an intriguing, unusual arrangement of slats.

Gli ambienti votati al benessere attraverso l’acqua, come la piscina della wellness spa e i bagni interni alle suites, sono caratterizzati dalla presenza di rivestimenti in pietra naturale dalla bellezza sorprendente, capace di accendere i sensi della vista e del tatto e di connettere ogni ospite con la proprio centro interiore e la natura circostante.

“Nell’area wellness, il rivestimento Antolini in Patagonia trasforma la parete della piscina in una fantastica scenografia naturale. Candide campiture appena ombreggiate si stagliano su uno sfondo a tratti traslucido, velato da volubili sfumature nei toni delle terre, alternate a complesse ramificazioni nere e dorate.”

La preziosa trama materica della materia, resa ancora più scenografica dalla retro illuminazione si riflette sia sulla superficie dell’acqua, dando origine a un cangiante gioco di riflessi, sia sull’ampia vetrata che separa la piscina dal patio dell’hotel, proiettando all’esterno il sogno di questo spazio vocato al benessere del corpo e dello spirito.

Il Sequoia Brown è la pietra Antolini protagonista dei bagni all’interno delle suites. Una scelta sapiente, in linea con il linguaggio architettonico del resort che reinterpreta in chiave contemporanea lo stile delle costruzioni alpine. L’immagine discreta e accogliente degli spazi privati, caratterizzati dall’uso prevalente del legno, acquisisce valore e matericità dalla presenza di una pietra dall’eleganza vibrante, segnata da morbide venature che richiamano l’idea di essenze antiche.

“In questo caso, la pavimentazione vede protagonista il Sequoia Brown Antolini in una versione molto particolare – spiega Marco Pezzutto: il marmo infatti presenta le geometrie tipiche di un parquet, offrendo l’idea di splendidi listoni disposti in orizzontale o diagonale. Pur garantendo quindi una straordinaria robustezza, il pavimento restituisce la percezione di “calore” in genere associata al legno, nonché un dinamismo sapientemente amplificato anche dalle vetrate della doccia che riflettono i meravigliosi disegni della pietra naturale. A parete invece, il marmo si eleva ora fino all’altezza dello specchio ora ancora più in alto, riproponendo ancora una volta il gioco di riflessi e sovrapposizioni che accompagna l’ospite in tutte le sue esperienze a contatto con l’acqua.”

Le pietre naturali utilizzate negli spazi interni di Montchalet sono Patagonia e Sequoia Brown di Antolini, entrambe appartenenti alla Exclusive Collection. A Montchalet, Patagonia di Antolini è stato utilizzato per l’area wellness.

A Montchalet, Sequoia Brown di Antolini è stato utilizzato per i rivestimenti delle pareti dei bagni all’interno delle suites. Sempre nelle suites, ma solo per quanto concerne la pavimentazione, è stato scelto il Sequoia Brown della Woodstone  Collection che presenta la solidità del marmo in una singolare ed evocativa disposizione a listoni.
