LightArt is thrilled to unveil four new shapes to their ever-evolving acoustic family: Acoustic Trellis in Wave and Frame and Acoustic Shade in Cube and Trapezoid. Continuing to create highly functional acoustic lighting solutions, LightArt introduces these design-forward fixtures featuring clean lines and contemporary forms while boasting high acoustic performance ratings.

LightArt’s Acoustic Shade makes a contemporary return this fall with two additional configurations — Cube and Trapezoid. Adding on to the line of circular shades, Cube and Trapezoid bring unique and intriguing forms to the equation.

The open shade celebrates the sophisticated, clean design of LightArts Performance Light Core for a modern spin on a style traditionally seen in residential design. Ryan Smith elaborates, “What you see, it’s all purposeful, we’re not trying to hide anything. These shades celebrate function and technology”.  When clustered, the fixtures apply LightArt’s expert acoustic design to tame noise distraction and mitigate privacy concerns.

The new shades feature a double layer of material that maximizes the acoustic value of the fixture and allows for a rich color story. With the option to have the inner and outer shades differ in color, the combinations are numerous using LightArt’s 15 stock color options. The Acoustic Shade has an NRC rating of .90 and comes with a LED module with a single light-emitting source, thermally managed to provide optimal performance. E26 globe lamp models are also available. The new fixture comes in five standard sizes (ranging from 17” D x 10” H to 42” D x 23” H) with custom options available.

LightArt has released two classic configurations of their Acoustic Trellis line — Wave and Frame. This cutting-edge acoustical lighting system has historically been made up of fins in a repeating angle pattern, creating a lighting and sound solution perfect for large rooms with expansive ceilings. Wave and Frame offer the same solution in two neutral patterns, customizable to fill any sized space without overwhelming the overarching design.

The Acoustic Trellis has an NRC rating of 1.00 and can be used in spaces that have an unfinished ceiling or where designers would traditionally use a drop ceiling. Wave and Frame offer a simple design alternative to the original Trellis Chevron while providing the same functional acoustics paired with LightArt’s recently released Performance Light Core. The combination of acoustic capabilities and performance lighting provides a comprehensive system that replaces the need for alternative solutions. Designers have the option to specify the lighting output for a complete solution within a singular system.

LightArt President and Creative Director Ryan Smith explains the inspiration behind the new classics, “What if we make a toned-down, simple architectural grid. This has a basic design component and a much more neutral design approach for the ceiling, allowing designers to fill a larger area without it being the dominant pattern in their space.”

The Acoustic Trellis is 48” on a center square cell. Custom size options are available. Similar to LightArt’s other Acoustic products, the new iterations of Acoustic Trellis are made of 50% recycled PET Sola felt and available in 15 stock colors with custom options available.
