Situated on the edge between open park and forest is the House of Nature accommodating the teaching of "Nature and Out- door life” at Silkeborg Folk High School.

As a reference to the forest and the scheme of the building the use of wood is mandatory. Used for both interior, exterior, insulati- on and construction the material procures the minimized lifecycle carbon footprint of the building.

Furthermore, the use of screw pile founda- tion eliminates the need for concrete and beneficently allows the building to extend in between the trees of the forest and pro- vides each room varied views and connections to the forest.
