A project shortlisted no 8, by DOMES Awards 2018, in The Twelve Leading Works in the Category 'Best Built Work of New Architecture in an Existing Building of the Years 2013-2017'.
The construction of the small house by Kolybithra beach dates since 1883. In this space of 17 m², we were asked to design a small holiday house which should cover the needs of a family of four who wishes to experience a simple way of living for a few days, in the summer, in nature, on the beach. The use of a loft space, a furniture staircase and the use of the "ground" as a material for various surfaces created a space which can respond to the simple needs of a family who is on vacation by the sea. In this project every inch of the space had to be used thoughfully in balance with the aesthetics and simplcity of the surrounding environment..
