This COWORKING space has allowed us to rethink what a shared workplace should be. The tables are the main elements of the activity, becoming the only dividing and organizing elements of the space. A space that has simply been cleaned and exposed, showing the structure and its original materials and traces of what it had been before. The pine wood in three-layer board brings warmth to the space and solves all the other elements such as the kitchen area, rest areas, stairs and lockers.

The space we found initially was an old art shop and it was all covered in plaster layers, reducing the space in every direction, especially reducing the height, and hiding the character of the building, built around 1930 with bricks and casted steel columns.

Our job was focused on removing all the make-up from the space and discover all the traces that where hiding underneath. That lead us to bring more light to the 4 meters main room trough the two old storefront windows.

We used five tables as the main elements to organize the work space, leaving one in the first area, the kitchen area, and four to the work area. Another four small tables where set on the upper floor, in the meeting area, allowing the users to move the tables as they need, of creating another big one.

The materials used in the intervention are basically wood for all the furniture, kitchen, shelves, lockers… and steel for the structures, the tables, stairs and upper floor.

Este espacio de COWORKING nos ha permitido plantearnos de nuevo lo que debe ser un lugar de trabajo compartido. La mesa es el elemento principal de la actividad convirtiéndose en el único elemento divisorio y organizativo del espacio. Un espacio que simplemente se ha limpiado y dejado a la vista con la estructura, materiales originales y huellas de lo que había sido anteriormente. La madera de pino en tablero tricapa aporta calidez al espacio y resuelve el resto de elementos como zona de cocina, espacios de descanso, escalera y taquillas. La imagen corporativa impresa en las diversas superficies resuelve toda la señalética y gráfica en color del conjunto.  

El local de TEN studio era una antigua tienda de arte, revestida de capas de yeso, reduciendo el espacio en todos los sentidos, especialmente la altura, y ocultando el carácter del edificio, construido alrededor de 1930 con muros de ladrillo y columnas de acero fundido.

Nuestro trabajo se ha centrado en quitar todo el maquillaje del espacio y descubrir las trazas que se escondían debajo. Esto nos ha ayudado a iluminar mejor la sala principal, de cuatro metros de altura, a través de los dos escaparates originales en fachada.

Se han utilizado cinco mesas como elementos principales para organizar el espacio de trabajo, dejando una en la primera zona, la zona de cocina, y cuatro en la zona de trabajo. Otras cuatro mesas pequeñas se ubican en la planta superior, en la zona de reuniones, permitiendo a los usuarios mover las mesas según lo necesiten, dejando mesas pequeñas o uniéndolas para crear una sola mesa grande.

Los materiales utilizados en la intervención son básicamente madera para todo el mobiliario, cocina, estanterías, taquillas… y acero para las estructuras, las mesas, escaleras y planta alta.
