Northgate - A Creative Adaptive Public Area Regeneration | Mark Kubaczka

After 15 years the Northgate office building in central Warsaw has been given an adaptive facelift by award winning architectural studio artchitecture.

Artchitecture developed a creative adaptive design of all the public and shared tenant areas of the building that increases tenant’s amenities and that seeks to connect building occupants more closely to nature.

The design comprises the redesign of one of the car parking levels to provide a bike park together with freshen up showers, changing areas and cloakrooms.

The ground floor walk through entrance hall is finished in a timeless modern style which is tempered with the warmth of the reception focal point which is finished in natural copper.  Tenant amenities, including a newly refurbished and redesigned restaurant,  flow into and open up fully into the hall space.

The entrance lift lobbies , lifts and tenant floor lobbies and corridors have been finished in white glass and custom designed acoustic wooden paneling.  Lift entrances are highlighted by Led light strips and the clean sharp lines of the ceiling contribute to the general light and airy feel of the spaces.

On the third floor artchitecture has inserted a new tenants amenity hub - a chillout zone linked to an “urban jungle” - a biophilic area for relaxation in what was previously an unused and empty atrium terrace.
