Palace Crispi is located 15 min from coast of Trieste, near Viale XXI Settembre. Before it was sold as several apartments, it was used as an office building of Generali insurance company for many years.

A beautiful corner apartment had dark wooden floor and pinkish walls in the times when the client bought it. The wish was to create a summer residence for a woman, who likes to travel and enjoy cities and nature and lives between Vienna and Trieste.

Small continuing office spaces were cluttered inside of the 160 m2 apartment unit. The floorplan was cleared of unwanted walls, leaving bedroom and a bathroom closed with walls, one cladded with mirrors, reflecting the livingroom and another half open with glass panelled wall. All other space is left open, defined only with furniture pieces set into a space.

The whole atmosphere wants to be light, with a mediteranean flair, but keeping the character of a palace, telling the storry of Trieste and Vienna connected in some past time. The furniture in the apartment is carefully selected, consisting of new contemporary pieces, like Iona Voutrin's dining table and central piece Tooy Nabila chandelier combined with some old furniture like an Secession glass vitrine and concreete side table wich are cariing a sentimental value for the owner. Special touches like door handles from Macel Wanders and smal ceramic sculptures of Alya Neuner bring the feeling of searching trough a jewlery box.

The long window bench overlooking the street is another mediteranean design feature, bringing the use of apartment close to the way of living in mediteranean cities, hiding inside cold aparments and watching the lively life on streets bellow.
