This project started from a suggestion of our client to create a travelling exhibition module that can be assembled and disassembled in a fast and easy way. We have conceived a round shaped temporary building that can vary in size depending on client’s needs. The L.E.M. (Landing Exhibition Module) has a modular steel structure that creates a metal frame on which the external façade is fixed. The external cladding is made of insulating fiber-glass sandwich panels finished with reflecting coating that mirror the environment. The rest of the façade is made of modular glazing transparent panels. The sandwich panels are made with the rotational mould system so they can be shaped as needed and easy replicate. The external reflective coating makes the L.E.M. suitable for any location; the concept idea in fact is to create a very strong visual impact with the presence of a building that lands as a spaceship from the sky reflecting the environment that surrounds it, creating a very stunning contrast. Energy wise, the L.E.M. is self-sufficient thanks to embedded batteries that recharge from photovoltaic panels fixed on the roof. Internal and external LED lighting technology ensure a low energy consumption rate. Potable and wastewater are stored inside internal tanks.
