Located in the ancient downtown of Borgio, this is the typically Ligurian house, perhaps a warehouse, it is featured by introvert spaces and vaulted ceilings. Unfortunately the previous renovation had compromised its clear being. Our operation brought brack the spaces to their original and bare beauty. It was a work of subtraction and reduction of materials, we thought about a completely lightened space. Many elements have been designed "ad hoc" to make it coherent and compact: the kitchen is made by concrete with a large sink block, the durmast wardrobe block that orders the space between entrance and kitchen, and the thin staircase made by white iron that defies the laws of gravity. The space returns to be light, bright and fluid. Despite it is small, the house seems rider. The outside has been redesigned with a new flooring, a larch partition and a pergola for grapes.

Situata nell’antico nucleo di Borgio, la casa, tipicamente ligure, forse un fondaco, è caratterizzata da spazi introversi e soffitti voltati.Purtroppo l’intervento di ristrutturazione precedente ne aveva compromesso la limpida lettura. Il nostro intervento ha riportato gli spazi alla loro originaria e scarna bellezza. Lavorando per sottrazione e riducendo i materiali abbiamo immaginato uno spazio completamente alleggerito. Per dare coerenza e compattezza all’insieme molti elementi sono stati disegnati ad hoc: così la cucina, in cemento con il grande blocco lavandino, il blocco armadio in rovere che ordina lo spazio tra ingresso e cucina e la leggera scala in ferro bianco che sfida la legge di gravità. Lo spazio ritorna ad essere leggero, luminoso, fluido. Pur essendo di piccole dimensioni la casa appare più spaziosa. L’esterno è stato ripensato con una nuova pavimentazione, una parete divisoria in larice e la pergola per l’uva in castagno.
