High-Low: mix between natural and brutal elements composes this apartment with
irreverent informality.

Betting on a mix of natural and industrial elements with sophisticated details, MOCA studio
brought a contemporary look to this apartment using modernist references from the 70s.
When the laid back couple brought the references of what they desired in their new apartment,
the architects Ana Sikorski and Kátia Azevedo noticed that a big challenge was coming. Ahead
of the MOCA studio, they designed an interior that aroused the plural and personality-filled taste
of their new clients.
Located on the fourth floor of an upscale neighborhood of Curitiba, the apartment was chosen
because of the large windows that allow the view of the treetops. That feature signaled that the
project would move towards a more natural and rustic decoration.
For the integrated living room, where the couple likes to receive friends and family for leisure,
the architects bet on a high-low mix, using delicate and elegant wood patterns in contrast to a
rough surface, a role fulfilled by the rustic burnt cement lining and the italian porcelain tile with
onyx pattern on the floor.
On that project, the focus of the MOCA architects was to reconcile in a harmonized way the
couple's varied taste. For that reason, the irreverent informality in the apartment was not limited
to the common areas. The modern and sophisticated aspect is also present in the master suite
and in the guest room. In both rooms, the intimate area was integrated with the surroundings,
providing optimized spaces with greater circulation and the presence of decorative elements,
such as the bathtub.
