The new centre for translational medicine built on an area of 31,000 m² rises on 16 hectares of land. CBRB is formed by flexible and functional spaces organised like a small compact village, which harmoniously blends into the landscape. A pedestrian route at the centre of the village connects all the offices and offers a spectacular view on
the surrounding territory. The laboratories, divided into four wings and arranged on three floors are easy to reconfigure and, thanks
to the glass walls which separate them from the documentation area, they guarantee the necessary visibility among research groups. Last but not least, the creation of formal and informal work areas encourages collaboration. A conference centre with an auditorium and a support building which provides additional conferencing facilities, a small cafeteria, common rooms and other services complete the intervention. The CBRB campus has been designed by a team managed by HOK to be one of the world’s most efficient research centres with respect for the environment and efficient resource management.
Under construction.
