Stigmergic Matter - Agent Based Design | Paris Tsernos
Architectural Association, M.Arch Workshop II London / United Kingdom / 2013
Tutor: Rob Stuart-Smith Assistant tutor: Tyson Hosmer Team: Mayank Chavda, Sajeena Jamal, Sophoklis Koutsourelis, Paris Tsernos This workshop explored generative design processes through algorithmic techniques. More specifically this exploration focuses on the emergence of structures through local indirect rules of control - cohesion, seperation, alighnment. Our aim was the creation of an artificial ecosystem where agents act as builders and deposit matter - points- on the design environment. Matter itself has its own intelligence and has the ability to remain or disappear depending on the frequency of the passing agents. An optimisation of material use is achieved.
