Capturing three concepts of a contemporary family home Germany / 2016
Jacob & Spreng Architekten created this contemporary family house near Ammersee. The cubic structure and the steep slope intersect, arranged in a staggered formation to exploit the south-facing views towards the Alps.
On the day of the shoot, I met with Christoph Jacob, the architect who shared his ideas with me. Our discussion helped form the approach I was to take. There were three design concepts I aspired to capture — first, the framed views out to the green surroundings. Second, the birch façade that harmonises with the surrounding woodland. And thirdly, to illustrate how the building meets the steep topography.
