Why think about home automation in the 21st century

Home automation, or making the home smart (smart home), is the branch of technology that deals with the study of solutions to improve the quality of life in the home and more generally in buildings.

Home automation allows you to achieve a significant increase in performance and possibilities offered by the different systems in the home, optimizing consumption and allowing the integration of different functions such as control, comfort, security, energy saving and communication.

Unlike a traditional system, where the functions are activated by means of normal commands that are unable to communicate with each other and therefore cannot be controlled by a single point of supervision and programming, the home automation system makes it possible to create, both in the residential and tertiary sectors, the coordinated management of all devices.

A home automation system also offers essential help to the disabled and elderly: home automation care, thanks to customizable and configurable automations, helps the disabled or elderly to perform autonomously even complex actions.

The intelligent home: Smart Home
Precisely because of the specific characteristics of home automation, today we use the term intelligent home or smart home to indicate a technologically advanced environment, which through the management of interconnected home automation devices, is able to offer benefits and facilities to the user.

The advantages of living in an intelligent home is having the most common automated and optimized actions such as turning on the lights, opening doors and shutters, air conditioning management, communication systems and security systems, which can also be controlled remotely through smartphones, tablets or PCs.

Another feature of home automation is its flexibility: in fact, a home automation system can be built initially with minimal functions and then add new ones, according to new and different needs. A good predisposition of the system is desirable so as not to have to intervene with further masonry works although it is still possible to integrate new functions via Wi-Fi or radio frequency.

Building automation: home automation in the service sector
The use of home automation, as well as in the residential sector, also finds interesting applications in the tertiary sector. In this case we speak of building automation or "building automation". This means creating intelligent buildings and working environments where, in addition to traditional lighting, heating and security systems, IT and communication networks are also integrated into a single system. Dedicated management software contributes to the centralised and efficient control of all functions, whether they are commercial, accommodation facilities such as large hotels, hotels, holiday villages, bed and breakfasts or healthcare facilities.

Through dedicated apps for PCs, smartphones and tablets you can manage all the functions such as activating and deactivating the burglar alarm, receiving alerts of burglary, adjusting the climate and command the various scenarios of comfort and lighting, receive via SMS technical alarms of various kinds (gas leakage, water leakage, power blackout).
