In order to reimagine the ‘Etrimo’ building, the project proposes a combined programmatic and architectural approach.

The project reconsiders the interior/exterior relation by creating a new skin that serves as a support for the gangways, terraces and winter gardens, which are interconnected. They let each unit benefit from a large seasonal extension zone, where their alternating positions, combined with the varied appropriation of these spaces, create a dynamic and animated pattern in the façade. This proposal lets each resident appropriate a space and identify with their respective dwelling.

It shatters the anonymity of the original architecture and breaks with the principles of expression of 1970s architecture. The building stands out from the other towers through its whiteness, a ‘lighthouse’ effect in the heart of the site. The ground floor is converted into 2 social branches and existing shops, intended to reinforce social cohesion and control on the site. Socially and architecturally, bloc 9 forms a new hub of attractiveness, both for the city and for the area.
