đź“ŤCape Town // FLOAT ZERO.

Its all in the detail. The past few weeks we have been attending to all the little details in the space.

With understanding of the science behind the space and the balance between aesthetic appearance of the interior and the functionality of the design as a whole we had gone for a minimalist design with modular round seating systems and natural seagrass round rugs paired bold velvet fabrics.

We Zenified the space using the knowledge of paper folding to achieve the sense of being weightless and buoyant, we created 21 enormous origami birds that are suspended throughout the Float Lab casting mesmerizing abstract shadows on the walls.

In any space we design or uplift, incorporating Biophilic Design is utterly important. Humans have an innate need to connect with nature and this can sometimes be a challenging thing to achieve when you are based in the concrete jungle.

Using the art of Japanese suspended gardens we made custom Kokedamas to minimize that need. Suspended throughout the space they are sure to evoke the sense of nature.

Keeping in mind that Cape Town is in the midst of a water crisis all the materials used to make the Kokedamas are eco friendly & Sustainable using a special type of natural wool for maximum water absorption. All the plants used are specific to the space and water wise.

Float Zero has has a fully equip tea lab in the post-float relaxation lounge upstairs. The quality of tea is in its making, Nigiro tea merchant Mingwei set up the tea lab with a demonstration on how to make the perfect cup of tea!

Floating is an experience like no other with a wide-array of benefits for the mind, body & spirit including applications for health, personal development, spirituality and well-being.
