Any discerning shopper looking for lifestyle products in Augsburg is guaranteed to find themselves at Siller&Laar at Fuggerplatz. The longstanding family business has been housed in one of the city centre’s most beautiful patrician houses since 1999. The mansion, built around 1800 by the aristocratic Bothmer family, has now been painstakingly renovated. At the same time, the ground floor was equipped with a new shop layout. In doing so, they opted for the Scala variable shelving system from müller möbelfabrikation. It fits perfectly with the listed building’s impressive architecture and offers an ideal stage for a sophisticated product presentation.

“We were looking specifically for a modern shelving system with an unprepossessing appearance, to avoid competing with the beautiful architecture. But at the same time, alongside the quality of the workmanship, it should also offer a high degree of flexibility in spacing.”

SCALA does an excellent job of presenting the high-quality products to their advantage, from functional cookware to sophisticated tableware, to innovative ideas for the household.

The shelving unit’s clear grid structure and unassuming shelf bottoms create a perfect background for the elegant wares they carry. The varied installation options also proved advantageous to the shop design proposed by the müller möbelfabrikation planning team. SCALA can be planned as a fixed, single element, or alternatively, as an endlessly flexible system, thanks to the innovative design principle. It can be installed on the wall or can stand on its own in the room. At Siller&Laar, the experts chose the wall installation.

To make sure that the shop’s upscale products are shown in the best light both by day and in the evenings and winter, they chose the illuminated version of the SCALA system. In the Augsburg lifestyle department store, the tailor-made system was equipped with colourfast LED ribbons. The cable routes run unseen into the crossbeams, maintaining the beautiful appearance and clear design. Since entering the market, SCALA has already begun offering different options alongside the shelves, to make the system fit into different object and living space layouts in a flexible way; For instance, closed boxes or wardrobe rails can also be hung up in the frame construction. As a result, there are many ways of installing SCALA anywhere where a tidy space is needed.

The clear design and well-thought-out details of SCALA were honoured in 2019: designer Tim Brauns of Büro e27 and müller möbelfabrikation received the coveted German Design Award Winner 2019 from the German Design Council.

Wer als anspruchsvoller Kunde in Augsburg hochwertige Lifestyle-Produkte sucht, landet garantiert bei Siller&Laar am Fuggerplatz. Seit 1999 befindet sich das traditionsreiche Familienunternehmen in einem der schönsten Patrizierhäuser der Innenstadt. Jetzt wurde das um 1800 erbaute Bothmer’sche Palais aufwendig restauriert und gleichzeitig im Erdgeschoss mit einem neuen Shopsystem ausgestattet. Es fügt sich perfekt in die ausdrucksstarke Architektur des denkmalgeschützten Gebäudes ein und bietet für die anspruchsvolle Warenpräsentation eine tolle Bühne.

„Wir suchten gezielt nach einem modernen Regalsystem, das sich formal zurücknimmt, um der schönen Architektur keine Konkurrenz zu machen. Aber gleichzeitig sollte es neben der Verarbeitungsqualität auch eine hohe Flexibilität im Rastermaß bieten.“

Mit SCALA kommt das hochwertige Warenangebot, das von funktionalem Kochgeschirr über niveauvolle Tischkultur bis zu innovativen Ideen für den Haushalt reicht, exzellent zur Geltung.

Das klare Raster des Regalsystems und die filigranen Böden geben hier dem edlen Inhalt den passenden Rahmen. Als vorteilhaft bei der Shop-Gestaltung, ausgeführt vom Planungsteam der müller möbelfabrikation, erwiesen sich zudem die unterschiedlichen Installations-Möglichkeiten. SCALA kann nämlich als festes Einzelelement konzipiert werden, lässt sich dank des innovativen Konstruktionsprinzips alternativ auch als endlos flexibles System planen. Es lässt sich an der Wand montieren, kann aber auch frei im Raum stehen. Bei Siller&Laar entschieden sich die Experten für die Wandmontage.

Damit die edle Auslage im Shop nicht nur tagsüber im besten Licht erscheint, sondern auch abends und in der dunklen Jahreszeit zur Geltung kommt, entschied man sich für die beleuchtete Scala-Version. Das maßgeschneiderte System wurde im Augsburger Lifestyle-Kaufhaus mit farbechten LED-Bändern ausgestattet. Die Kabelführung läuft unsichtbar in den Traversen, so kommt die schöne Optik und das klare Design perfekt zur Geltung. Bereits seit der Markteinführung bietet SCALA neben den Regalböden noch weitere Optionen, sodass sich das System ganz flexibel in verschiedene Objekt und Wohnraumsituationen einfügen lässt. In die Rahmenkonstruktion lassen sich nämlich auch geschlossene Boxen oder Garderobenstangen einhängen. So entstehen viele Möglichkeiten, SCALA überall da einzusetzen, wo ordentlich Platz geschaffen werden muss.

Der klare Entwurf und die durchdachten Details von SCALA wurden 2019 ausgezeichnet: Designer Tim Brauns vom Büro e27 und die müller möbelfabrikation erhielten vom Rat für Formgebung den begehrten German Design Award Winner 2019.
