This is by far the largest construction project ever realised by Baumschlager Eberle Architekten. With over 361,000 m² of gross floor area, the mixed-use building with offices, shops and apartments is a city within the city ‒ and quite a European one, as a matter of fact. A multi-storey elevated zone, which constitutes the communal core of the city, is framed by towers resembling lighthouses. The surrounding office towers of the INCITY overlook the shops, passages and small-scale green spaces.
Neglected contextuality is of particular importance for new developments in China. In that regard, the Hong Kong office of Baumschlager Eberle Architekten have pioneered this project.
