As part of the urban transformation project in the Istanbul Sultangazi
district, DKY TEM project was designed for 1.000 accommodation
units. Therefore, the goal was to to keep the recreational facility and
shared garden in the center of the project grounds and place the linear
blocks around this center, setting them up in a way they would have
the most flexible relation with the roads and streets surrounding the
premises.
At the lowest and highest edges of the project grounds, there is an
elevation gap of 18m. This helped us create a gradual layout plan and use
the grounds in a more flexible way by making it possible to distinguish
the functions.
The objective of this project was to create the largest public space
possible to the extent the topographical features allow. While creating the floor plans, the bed rooms were positioned in a
way to face towards the exterior of the project grounds while, living
rooms and halls are placed (angularly so that everyone’s privacy is
respected) in a way to face the garden in the center, which clearly
would have a more attractive view.
