“CoolKrona” was honoured with first prize in the an invited architectural competition by Folkhälsan in January 2013. This senior housing project is built on a challenging site on the edge of three different city districts on Mannerheimintie in Helsinki. The project focuses on urban architecture and the quality of everyday life for senior citizens. Gullkronan shares services with the neighbour Senior service house. It is designed to make a new interpretation of the existing tectonic elements found in its neighbourhood.
