The will of the owners with this project has been to create a healthy space and try to sensitize the occasional tenants.
We spend a lot of our time at home and it is important that this is not harmful to its inhabitants. For this reason we have opted to work with natural materials provided by our supplier Altermat and we have also incorporated recycled materials.
The result is a pleasant, harmonious and healthy environment.

In the lower floors of Cabanyal, two major problems are usually encountered: humidity and lack of light. To remedy the problem of humidity we have created a sanitary floor using the Caviti system and we have plastered the perimeter walls with Biocalce MuroSeco from Kerakoll, to control the capillary lift.
To illuminate the ground floor naturally, we have decided to open the patio completely and not divide the space by partitions, the bathroom is fully glazed. A double curtain system allows for intimacy or darkness.

All the plaster has been chopped, even that of the vaults, to then cover the walls with lime mortar (Biocalce MuroSeco). The window frames are made of Iroko wood, material that does not require maintenance.
We have recovered hydraulic pavement from another house in the neighborhood to cover the entrance, the kitchen and the bathroom. It is a very laborious job but the result is rewarding.
In the living room and the room, we have chosen to put oak parquet. The skirting boards of the whole house are made of iroko wood.
To air-condition the space we have placed two fans, they allow to cool the atmosphere during most of the warm periods and it is not harmful as the air conditioning. However, there is a small split for air conditioning on very hot days.

The kitchen is built, covered with lime mortar and Spatolato from Kerakoll. The doors and shelves are made of Iroko wood, the bronze taps are the Delfi series by Zucchetti and the "master piece" is the stone pile purchased from Mercaderribo. There is a dishwasher 45cm high and an oven inside a module. The kitchen front was also made with hydraulics recovered from the neighborhood.

The base of the bed is made to measure, has a backrest/trunk and drawers below. The lampshades are 'esparto', the mechanisms are made of wood (Omega series by Edecor). We have tried to use a maximum of natural materials.

Once again we thank the team of masons (they also appreciate working with healthy materials), carpenters, electrician and plumber. Hopefully, this rehabilitation encourages others to use natural materials.
