Linea Light Group puts its signature on culture during F- Light of Florence, the Florence Light Festival that lasts through 6 January.

LIGHT PLAY AND CHRISTMAS FANCIES
This year, Linea Light Group put its signature on the light plays that were switched on at Palazzo Vecchio in Florence on Saturday, 8 December. Now in its fourth edition, F-Light decided to celebrate Leonardo da Vinci’s 500 years with the lighting project that has lit up the city with new light through 6 January 2019. In line with the Christmas concept of the festival, Linea Light Group proved its know-how in the technical field by creating luminous scenery that is reminiscent of typical Christmas elements, such as falling snow and candlelight. The scenes are made up of two cycles with a pause and recall cycles in between for a total cycle of 16 minutes of lighting scenery. A dual scene is predefined and regulated by a DMX control system where each product is a different pixel of a set.

Various products were chosen for this lighting project where Palazzo Vecchio and the Arnolfo Tower are protagonists. For the walkway, a lighted grid was created made up of 220 Pixie RGBW units, small circular LED devices with built-in four-channel control for the colour and dimming. Featuring PIXEL RGBW technology and thanks to the DMX protocol, they create dynamic lighting scenery. The installation was made possible thanks to a system of connectors consisting of a total of 600 metres of cable, on which the various Pixie units were connected which illuminated the upper part of the antique palace with small falling snowflakes. The effects continue upward on the Arnolfo Tower, lit up like a bright candle. To create this, three different lighting situations were implemented. In the first, Silicone_C RGB LED strips were installed inside the corridor, under the battlements. The strip was applied created cove lighting on the wall opposite the large windows of the walkway corridor. A uniform wash on the wall discretely illuminates the passing visitors without creating glare. The various light play also conveys the final effect of a fiery base for spectators, as if the beginning of the flame is inside the bell tower itself. To light the pillars, on the other hand, wall mounted Archiline_W Pro RGBW bars in stainless steel with elliptical optics were chosen, whereas for the interior of the bell housing, Prolamp RGBW spotlights were selected, a range of spotlights designed for architectural lighting with many available optics. The diffused lighting of the two installations allows an upward fading effect to be created, giving the idea of a small burning flame.
