LumiBar

A few months after the launch of LumiShell, a prefab curved dwelling intended to be implanted in the Heart of Nature, LUMICENE unveils LumiBar, the result of a collaboration with ASB
Architectures and Oxygen. The project took shape as part of a reflection on one of the most common third places, the bar. Designed using very large sized LUMICENE windows (up to 8m diameter), LumiBar offers the luxury to transform the bar into a terrace in a snap of a finger; turning it into an outside space while enjoying the comfort of the inside. So that you never have to cancel an aperitif because of the weather. And you can remain mindful of the neighbours by closing the LUMICENE windows at night to prevent noise nuisance. LumiBar is today available in 2 sizes, 50 and 180m2. The architects designed simple and fluid shapes, so that it can be easily positioned within the landscape, with various external skin possibilities: wood cladding for a project on the ski slopes, or a matt aluminium skin in an urban environment. The different images show a LumiBar L set up in the mountains, and on the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville in Paris with an Olympic setting. LumiBar XL is installed on the Place Bellecour in Lyon. Several projects are currently under study in France. Other sizes might follow in the coming months.
