The memorable monument is devoted to construction to the Russia's first gas pipeline. The gas pipeline was constructed during World War II in 1942 for power supply evacuated to the Kuibyshev city (nowadays Samara) the industrial enterprises making military products. Construction of the gas pipeline is an example of heroism of the home front workers providing conditions for a victory of the USSR against Nazi Germany.
