Hybrid cable-stayed bridge, conceptual study
Project description
concept
Cable-stayed bridges often have a large bridge cross section to absorb torsional forces. In order to minimize the bridge cross-section, a system was developed in which tensioning cables are additionally under the carriageway. The curved pylons and the cross-connection of the cables in the area under the roadway, absorb wind and payload effects and stabilize the building. The result is an infrastructure which stands as a sculpture in the landscape and celebrates the statics.
