Chongqing Longfor NOW HERE villa--a “disruptive” project presented by Longfor Properties with its 25-year-old development philosophy focusing on humanistic living, is located at bank of the Yulin river of Longxing, a famous historic town in Chongqing, enjoying the precious forests of Tonglu Mountain and Mingyue Mountain. Facing beautiful scenery on one side and urban prosperity on the other, its an ideal place to live a hermit life accompanied by nature. With a thorough understanding of the essence of NOW HERE’s architectural concept, “the Community of Affection, Coexistence & Vacation”, and also the emotional needs of modern people, Metropolitan Space Art chooses “The Pleasure of Leisure” as the soft furnishing theme of the mock-up room, creating a modern Chinese courtyard with peculiar artistic, casual and humanistic aesthetics.

Reading, learning, chatting, meditating, drinking, drawing, strolling, listening to music, cooking some tea or playing chess with friends...the leisure life that once missed can be relived in the villa. “The Pleasure of Leisure” not only brings delights into life, but also embodies the attitude towards life.

Basement 1st floor is the public area shared by family members, Metropolitan Space Art makes it a zen space through a Chinese-style minimalist design. Natural light, sparse bamboo shadows, and continuous stone mountains are all highlighting the  spirit and elegance of the courtyard. In line with the relaxing atmosphere, rattan-like chairs and coffee table at the courtyard makes the entrance experience an immediate relief. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors are used as a frame that integrates the family dining area into the image of the courtyard. Three improved Chinese-style pendant lamps together with rustic vases, withered twigs, lotus seed pod, pine nuts and so on create a natural and poetic aura of the space.

The family hall and the dining area are “separated” by a half-height wall. With two units of linen sofas and four symmetrically distributed wood corner tables, a family hub has been created. Abstract ink paintings on the side wall echos the poetic aura of the dining area, making the whole space consistent and harmonious. Vase-shaped chandeliers beside the paintings are inspired by the craftsmanship of traditional lanterns. Together with vintage containers and floral decorations, a classic aesthetic featuring warmth and elegance comes into being. Warm yellow lighting is to make the space tranquil and peaceful, while minimalist furniture to minimize distractions so as to have family members communicate smoother.

Next to the family hall is the tea lounge area. Here designers choose ebony cabinets and black-white rugs to introduce serenity, and the smooth and shiny tea table to interpret the peculiar bookish temperament of Chinese literati’s. With the fresh accent brought by the greenery at one side of the table, residents can fully enjoy their leisure time, drinking tea and chilling out. A minimalist design has also been applied to the yoga room to create relaxing atmosphere. A yoga mat, a coffee table and two seats are all one needs to fully enjoy the freedom in yoga.

For most of the time, living room and dining room at the 1st floor will be used for guest receiving, thus designers place one sofa unit and three seats here as a fresh and neat space for reception. At the same time, a rich artistic aura has been fully interpreted through tabletop patterns, rustic vases, and poetic paintings. Minimalist dining table and chairs, diamond-shape pendant light, delicate utensils and plates  creates a modern yet elegant dining experience that both the host and guest love.

As private space for family members, bedrooms showcase their personalities. To meet various needs, designers tailor different color palettes for each bedroom in accordance to specific member’s characteristics and preferences.

Choosing light gray and white as the major tone of the main bedroom is to reflect the personalities of the male and female masters--they are mature, stylish, capable and intellectual. With the purity attributes, the colors are also good for sleep.

The simple yet elegant green in together with calm gray and brown are used in the elder’s bedroom, telling the story of the their rich experience and profound wisdom.

The daughter’s room is decorated in bright yellow, and when a special tent is placed here as a forest cabin, the curiosity of this lively young spirit finds its way home.

The son is a calm little boy who loves to paint, so his bedroom has a fresh green accent, reflecting his steady personality and active thoughts. Designers also prepare painting table and board for him along side the bed, making it possible for the solitary time to become an immersive journey of art.

Coexist with nature-- let’s make every trip home the beginning of a holiday. Live a hermit life in the city-- let’s touch the very quintessence of quality life. Metropolitan Space Art ingeniously imprints the happiness of life and pleasure of leisure into the NOW HERE mock-up rooms, interpreting an ideal villa life that every family desires.
