Chora Paestum Museum is tought as an hangar, a simple element that links up the centre of Albanella with Paestum by taking up the area of a pre-existing building. The museum space is tapered along two directrixes: towards the horizon in order to englobe the territory; towards the sky in order to increase the perceptions that you can live on the inside of a museum. Simple walls, inside in reinforced facing concrete and outside in milky white plaster, represent the skin of the building along the long sides. The transparency of the short sides of the museum, pointed towards the historic centre of Albanella and towards the sea, along with their big dimensions, enlarges the link between the centre and sea, the real aim of the project.
