This project is unusual for our studio. Scope of work included not only visualizations - which is our main focus, but interior design as well. WKG – one of the biggest suppliers of natural stone in Poland asked us to prepare an architectural concept of their headquarters located in Silesia region, Poland. Existing office interiors needed some new features - a lobby area, a meeting room and a showroom. The showroom was supposed to showcase WKG's products not in a typical way as a simple stone slabs one next to each other, but presented with a specific design ideas.
Following client's requiments, we have divided the existing open space into a few smaller rooms, each with a proper function. Main lobby area was finished with Bianco Edera white quartzite and black plaster with WKG's logo. Floor tiles were made using Iron Black - dark granite with white pattern. Meeting area was separated from the lobby by huge stone slabs of Bianco Edera intertwined with glass panels. Inside the meeting room we placed a massive marble table and modern style lamp. Behind it there is a small lobby area finished with illuminated unregular slabs of Volga Blue black granite. Small lobby leads to a workshop area and then upstairs to office part of the building. Staircase's walls are made of Grigio Montagna grey sandstone. We have added an interesting detail there - an illuminated handrail in a niche. For the ceiling finishing we used dark aluminium strips, which make the area more spacious.
