Situated on a block near the coast in North Beach, the brief for this house was for it to be open, relaxed and to embrace the views of the ocean.  A clean modern aesthetic was adopted with natural materials used where ever possible.  Stone clad walls anchor the building to the site.  In contrast, a series of horizontal white blades form the roofs.

All the Living areas, inside and out, face north and enjoy a view of the ocean.  The Living, Dining and Kitchen are all open to allow for ample natural light, cross ventilation and maintain the sense of space in this modest size home.  These areas open through large glass sliding doors onto a large covered veranda / BBQ terrace that faces the street.  Here the owners can relax and greet the neighbours as they walk to the beach
