The Schönbuch brewery was installed in the basement of the old train station of Stuttgart, protected as a monument, in 2011. Ott architects designed a brewery that underlines the traditional craftmanship of beer brewing and gives it a modern interpretation. Due to the heavy wear on the flooring in the gastronomy area, solid pur natur oak boards were laid here. As a contrast to the modern lighting concept of the ceiling, the natural wood structure of the »Natur« oak boards has an impressive effect. The highlight of the room is the “beer altar” with a wall covering in pur natur oak boards and the back-lighted logo of the brewery.
