JIANG Sushibar
Innsbruck / Austria
Delicacies from the far east are served over the wooden bar at the Innsbruck main train station. The restaurant JIANG-sushi.nudel.saft was given a modern design by the architect Thomas Thaler. Three colours are predominant in the design of the premises: white, vermillion and black. The light colour of the solid Douglas wooden floor forms a contrast to the dull black of the kitchen facade and the splendid red tones in the sitting area. Delicately constructed wooden slats surround the padded sitting recesses, of which the benches and tables are also made of Douglas fir wood. Behind the sales counter, vertical solid wooden boards of the 300 series constitute the wall covering. The floor was deliberately raised in order to imitate a possibility of insulation with regards to the train station bustle.
