The Mountain and the Oasis; two important elements in the genesis of the project.
It is a question of composing between two highly symbolic and characteristic landscapes of the region. On the other hand the land is located in the extension of an area of individual housing whose scale will be taken into account in the development of the future institute.
Thus we propose to change the traditional typology of teaching spaces characterized by its imposing compact form. The idea is that through the fragmentation of functions and work with the masses on a human scale reminiscent of neighbouring houses, coupled with a vegetated concept inspired by oases, a new landscape is created.
This new landscape composed with anarchic masses reminds the shape of the vernacular villages, it allows the creation of several and not of one? As in a traditional scheme. In order to ensure optimal use of spaces, a functional, pragmatic but light gateway connects the different entities. It concentrates the vertical circulation and is equipped with an access ramp for disabled people. The development of the volumes applies as well to their ratios of proportion as to their materials, their colours and their situation in the natural space or in the environmental context, it is the whole which creates a homogeneous unit, of varied dimensions very human, and whose appearance causes an aesthetic effect creating the landscape and emotion.
These courses, each of which participates in the functional organization of the project (school yard, library courtyard, etc.) have a variety of atmospheres, invite you to wander in the shade of the volumes and in contact with the vegetation that, according to the concept landscape, penetrates the heart of the project.
