This project was a proposed remodelling of an existing house in London, with the addition of a small rear extension to accommodate the needs of the client. The house belongs to an author of romance novels that resides with her partner and cat. We decided to propose for the extension a quiet place with ample daylight for her to read and write. A shelf is designed for the wall above the desk that doubles as a perch for the cat. A skylight is placed on the roof to let daylight in from above.

The living room is separated from the dining area with sliding crittal glass doors. A small study is proposed on one side of the fireplace along the exterior wall to receive daylight from the window. The kitchen is fitted with a new island and wall-to-wall cupboards. New storage space is placed under the staircase with room for the washing machine and dryer.

The bedroom upstairs is redesigned to have a large cupboard along one wall with three large sliding leaves. The bathroom is remodeled to contain a free standing bathtub as well as a shower.
