After previous collaboration, we were approached by AVI client to design a studio where the client could work in a pleasant environment, receive visits and occasionally stay overnight. The interior had not only a representative function, but also a living room with all the facilities that belong to the residential function. At the very first meetings we defined equipment and furniture suppliers. We have decided, if possible, for Czech producers and designers.
The space we had available is two-storey. Accessible directly from the courtyard of old Prague buildings. Since it was not a new building, but a conversion, the area offered beautiful brick vaults in steel beams.
Interior design - concept:
As I mentioned earlier, this is a two-storey studio. The total area is about 86m2. On the lower floor you will find a representative section, which consists of a sitting room for dealing with clients, a large dining table with six chairs and a hidden kitchenette behind the harmonica door. Further on this floor you will find a bathroom with shower and toilet. All furniture, both built-in and freestanding, is made of walnut wood. Most furniture comes from the Czech firm Ton, a sofa from Polstrin. The library, cabinets, bathroom furniture and the kitchen are atypical designed by us. Lighting that emphasizes the lounge and dining table is from the Czech company Bomma.
The upper floor is already private. You will find here a working desk and a bedroom. The design and implementation of the furniture is from firm Situs. Again in walnut wood.
Materials: On the ground floor, the most dominant element are a concrete walls with colored pigmentation in blue and green. As a footstep on this floor, the pavement combines gray and decorated paving, defining the main room of the lounge and the dining table. The wood on both floors is strictly walnut. The ceiling on the ground floor is a rectangular brick. The upper floor is tuned more into light colors. As a footpath we used a wooden oak floor to provide space for coziness and warmth.
Conclusion:
Every action is something new to us, but here I see a major shift in color. Mostly, we hold damp or monochrome colors. The client is of Greek descent and so we allowed ourselves a bit of experience with the colors. We are happy with the result and we hope you will like it too. It should be noted that the choice of stylistic accessories, paintings is a client and therefore I consider it important to bring it as a co-author. We were very interested in the cooperation with him and thank you.
