Located in a rural context, but close to the historical and central center of Santa Maria da Feira, the project develops based on the recovery of an existing stone housing and the construction of a new concrete body interconnected through a wooden structure and wide openings in a frank dialogue with the outside and surrounding.

The existing construction confines directly with the road and the terrain is delimited by a water line that confers greater breadth and beauty to the place.

Along the road the concrete wall interrupts the existing stone wall to give rise to the new entrance and consequently to the new body.

The entrance of the house is the central and intermediate point of distribution that relates the two floors.

The upper floor, dedicated to the private area, with the concrete volume destined to the rooms and sanitary facilities of the children and the stone volume destined for the parents' room, the lower floor is intended for all social area and services.

Inside, we are surprised with the double right foot and the full transparency of the wooden body, with a broad view in contrast to the two bodies that make up the house.

The materials in the interior are intended to have a simple white color on the walls, the wood on the floor and ceilings, allowed to create a comfortable environment where the simplicity is valued.

Localizado num contexto rural, mas próximo do núcleo histórico e central de Santa Maria da Feira, o projeto desenvolve-se com base na recuperação de uma habitação existente em pedra e na construção de um novo corpo em betão interligados através de uma estrutura em madeira e amplos vãos de abertura num dialogo franco com o exterior e a envolvente.

A construção existente confina diretamente com a estrada e o terreno é delimitado por uma linha de agua que confere maior amplitude e beleza ao local.

Ao longo da estrada o muro em betão interrompe a parede de pedra existente para dar origem á nova entrada e por consequência ao novo corpo.

A entrada da casa é o ponto central e intermédio de distribuição que relaciona os dois pisos.

O piso superior, dedicado á área privada, com o volume em betão destinado aos quartos e instalações sanitárias das crianças e o volume em pedra destinado ao quarto dos pais, o piso inferior destina-se a toda área social e serviços.

No interior, somos surpreendidos com o pé direito duplo e com a transparência total do corpo em madeira, com uma visão alargada em contraste com os dois corpos que constituem a casa.

Os materiais no interior pretendem ter leitura simples a cor branca nas paredes, as madeiras no pavimento e tetos, permitiram criar um ambiente confortável onde se valoriza a simplicidade.
