A House in Jerusalem – "Frame the view"

In a three-story house facing the side of a mountain, lives a family with 4 children and watches a magnificent green landscape. Our first decision to design the 375 square meters of this house was to bring the view into every point of that house's space.

In order to make this happen, we chose Modern-minimalist approach which contributes a lot to the feeling of wider space, without sacrificing functionality for a moment.

The house shows a picky materials selection, the use of geometrical shapes, repeating a color scale that duplicates itself and repeated motifs. The implementation of all of these, were done in a contrast way so that eventually the contrast is what creates the harmony. An example of this can be seen in the kitchen's backsplash that contrasts with the island which is grated Douglas Wood veneer.

The design element that connects between the public space and the stairs is the balustrade which made of stainless steel, whose color matches the Wood veneer, as well as the kitchen and island backsplashes. This balustrade rises to the 3 floors of the house, and looks like an art piece that looks like origami and therefore has a light appearance, despite the steel it is made of. In front of him, white and gray colors were combined in the staircase, and thus we repeated the idea of a contrast that softens the balustrade.

The wall of the fireplace we designed on the lower floor stands out in its presence: it has dark gray graphite colors, and a long Wood veneer stand underneath. The combination of the 3 units - the fireplace, the television and the canteen - created a geometric composition of materials and colors that formed an airy space. In addition, this neutral coloration moderates the interior, and provides a background to the green landscape that we wanted to bring into the house at the beginning of the project.

The living room, among other things, is used for conversation and contemplation of the landscape, for which we chose a luxurious sitting room with 2 leather armchairs.

Again, we repeated a triangular cluster at the living room tables at various heights, as a repeat of the triangular cluster in the TV wall
