Duplex apartment

Overlooking the Thermaic gulf, the duplex apartment was designed to house a young growing family. Normless architecture studio completed a full renovation of the flat offering a functional and cozy environment for the owners.

The architects sought to make the most of space in the 96 square meters flat, leaving the main structure of the flat but also making a few modifications to improve physical and visual connection between different spaces maintaining an open plan feel.

On the lower floor we find the communal spaces, kitchen, living room, the guest bedroom and bathroom, whilst the upper floor comprises the two bedrooms and the family bathroom.

A rich blue color highlights the kitchen cupboards contrasting the white black and grey palette seen and complementing the green and blue details.

An extending metal table integrated in the kitchen’s island is designed to save space from the dining area and allow an everyday use.

A metal window connects the kitchen with the lounge area, allowing natural light to come through from all four sides.

The space under the staircase is enclosed, coated with dark natural filler coating, incorporating an entryway bench, the TV stand and an extra storage room.

A metal handrail directs you to the upper floor where a set of wardrobes run along the elongated corridor lined with black and white herringbone tiles. On the other end of that corridor a metal glass door leads to the family bathroom. In the main bedroom, warm wooden furniture, dark metal details (like the custom designed light sconces above the bedside cabinets) and light green filler coating on the headboard echoes the contemporary design of the apartment.
