New headquarters of Bolzano Province | Paolo Bornello

The competition site is located in an area of Bolzano that is currently undergoing a significant transformation, characterized by the emergence of strategic new urban polarities that must shape the identity of this part of the city, designated to become the gateway from the station to the historic centre of Bolzano. The project for the new Province Office Building is structured as an urban landmark: the decision to develop the building in height expresses the project’s intent to give the Province Office Building significant visibility and an urban, institutional and symbolic identity, so that it becomes a point of reference and a gathering place for the area occupied by the buildings of the provincial administration. This way the Province Tower plays the role of an urban gateway for those who enter the city from the east.
